From quarry to container.
Six things that separate a serious exporter from a re-seller. Every one of these is in-house at Kohinoor Floors.
Quarry partnerships
Long-standing direct contracts with quarry operators across Andhra Pradesh (granite), Karnataka (granite, quartzite), Tamil Nadu (granite, including Hosur and Madurai), Rajasthan (limestone, sandstone, marble) and Madhya Pradesh (sandstone). Direct-from-block pricing, no wholesale layer.
Own block-processing unit
Raw granite and marble blocks sized, prepared and gangsaw-cut on our own line. Slab thickness, surface flatness and finish consistency controlled in-house, not subcontracted.
Italian CNC fabrication
State-of-the-art Italian bridge-saw, edge-polishing and 5-axis CNC machinery at our in-house fabrication unit. Cut-to-size, complex profiles, balustrades, façade panels, bookmatched bookends and fountain bowls fabricated to architect drawings.
Handcrafted finishing
Traditional hand-finished sandstone cobbles, hand-set mosaic, restoration-grade hand work for heritage and religious projects. India's stone-craft tradition is centuries deep, and we work it where machines cannot go.
Container packing & ISPM-15
Wooden A-frame bundles, foam-padded edges, 4-way pallet bases, fully fumigated ISPM-15 wooden packing. Container loading at our facility, typical 20-foot ~18-20 tonnes, 40-foot ~22-25 tonnes of slabs.
Documentation & certification
Per-shipment commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading, certificate of origin (FORM-A, EUR.1 or GSP as applicable), phytosanitary and fumigation certificates, marine insurance documentation, ASTM / EN material test certificates on request.
Port-side, eighteen kilometres.
Our Maradu yards sit 18 km from the Cochin Port container terminal at Vallarpadam. Material is sized, gangsaw-cut, fabricated and ISPM-15 packed at our facility, then trucked directly to ship-side. No extra warehouse hops, no consolidator markups.
For Rajasthan-origin stone (Makrana marble, Kota, sandstone), we can also route via Mundra or Mumbai when container volumes justify the routing.
Common export questions.
For first-time importers and established trade buyers. Market-specific questions answered on enquiry.
Email the trade deskWhat is the typical lead time for an export order? +
Standing-inventory orders (popular granites, Kota stone, common sandstone) ship within 3-4 weeks of order confirmation. Custom-fabricated orders (CNC, bookmatched, carved profiles, project-size slabs) take 6-10 weeks. Ocean transit from Cochin Port adds 5-9 days to Sri Lanka and Maldives, 18-25 days to the GCC, 22-28 days to the UK and Europe, 25-32 days to Australia, and 30-42 days to the US.
Do you sell FOB or CIF? Can you handle door delivery? +
Both, and we routinely quote ex-works, FOB, CFR, CIF and DDP depending on your preference. For first-time importers we recommend CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight to your nearest port). For established importers with in-country logistics, FOB or ex-works are often more economical. Door delivery is available in most GCC and South Asian markets through our agents.
What is your minimum order quantity? +
For standard granite slabs we work from a 20-foot container minimum (about 18-20 tonnes, 500-600 sqm). For Kota stone and Indian sandstone paving we can ship a 20-foot container of about 25 tonnes (600-750 sqm). Mixed-stone orders are accommodated, we can ship a single container with multiple stone types if the project calls for it.
Can you produce custom CNC and carved profiles? +
Yes. Our fabrication workshop runs Italian 5-axis CNC for façade panels, column rounds, capitals, balusters, fountain bowls, intricate inlay and large-format bookmatched panels. For traditional carved work, temple-grade profiles, heritage memorial stones, hand-carved capitals, we work with master craftsmen on a per-project basis.
Why ship from Cochin Port specifically? +
Our yards in Maradu sit 18 km from the Cochin Port container terminal at Vallarpadam. For South Indian granite, Kerala-origin laterite and any stone moved via the south-bound rail or road from Andhra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu quarries, Cochin Port is the most efficient gateway. For Rajasthan stone (Makrana marble, Kota, sandstone) we can also route via Mundra or Mumbai when volumes justify it.
What documentation do you provide with each shipment? +
Commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading (or air waybill for sample or urgent shipments), Certificate of Origin (FORM-A for GSP-eligible markets, EUR.1 for Europe, or generic certificate), phytosanitary and ISPM-15 fumigation certificate for the wooden packing, marine insurance certificate when CIF, and material test certificate where required by destination standards.
How do I get samples before placing a container order? +
We courier 100x100 mm or 200x200 mm physical samples by international express to most countries (transit 4-7 days). For larger sample boards (300x300 mm or 600x600 mm tile), we ship via air-freight or consolidated ocean cargo. Sample costs are credited against the first commercial order.
Do you handle Australian, US or EU compliance? +
For Australia we supply material test reports to AS/NZS 4456 (slip resistance) and AS 3700 where applicable. For the EU we provide CE-marking declarations under EN 1341 and EN 1342 for paving products. For the US we supply ASTM C615 (granite), ASTM C568 (limestone) and ASTM C99 / C170 / C880 test data on request. Specifications can be agreed pre-order.
Tell us the project. We'll quote the container.
Share the stone, the volume and the destination port. We will respond with FOB, CIF and DDP options, lead times, and a sample-board proposal within the working day.
