Kohinoor Floors has supplied Kochi’s building trade since 1976. The Old NH-17 yard in Kundannoor is our main godown and showroom; a second yard in Maradu handles fabrication and overflow stock. Both are in 682304 PIN, both within 4 minutes of each other.

Kochi-specific specification notes

Buildings in Kochi face three environmental conditions that drive material choice:

1. Humidity, averages 70-85% year-round. Materials that hold moisture (some marbles, low-fired ceramics) degrade faster here than in dry-climate cities. We default-recommend low-absorption porcelain and vitrified tiles for ground-floor and humid-zone use.

2. Salt exposure, for buildings within 2 km of the Arabian Sea or backwaters (Marine Drive, Willingdon, Fort Kochi, Cherai), salt blooming on external surfaces is a real issue. We specify flamed dark granites (Absolute Black, Black Galaxy) for exposed paving, not light-coloured granites.

3. Monsoon flooding, for ground-floor commercial in known flood-prone PINs (parts of Vyttila, Kaloor, Edappally), we recommend fully-sealed porcelain or sealed concrete pavers rather than carpet, wood or natural stone for ground-floor lobby and entrance areas.

The Kundannoor godown, what you can see

If you visit the Old NH-17 location:

• Slabs hall, ~6 000 sqft of granite and marble slabs displayed vertically. Bring sample lighting; the hall is daylight-lit with northern-skylight diffusion.
• Tile sample wall, 200+ active SKUs from across vitrified, ceramic, porcelain and paver categories.
• Stock godown, 60 000 sqft of indoor stock with another 60 000 sqft at the fabrication unit.
• Cut-to-size workshop, at the fabrication unit. Visitors welcome with prior intimation.

Walk-ins do not need an appointment for the showroom. For workshop visits and matched-lot stock allocation we ask for 24-hour notice.

How to find us

The Kundannoor godown sits on Old NH-17 (the Highway-66 service road), about 600 m from the Kundannoor Bridge junction, on the Maradu side. Look for the two-storey building with the Kohinoor Floors signage and the rolling-shutter loading bay; both entrances are off the highway service road.

The fabrication unit is harder to find without GPS, set destination to “Kohinoor Floors ,” not just the road name.
